Juventus are considering a swap deal which would see defender Merih Demiral move to Chelsea in exchange for midfielder Jorginho. The Bianconeri are desperate to offload the 24-year-old centre-back, who spent last campaign on loan at Atalanta.
Turkey international joined the Old Lady from Sassuolo in the 2019 summer transfer window but was not able to cement a spot in the first team and was sent on a loan to La Dea two years later. Atalanta have the option to make a move permanent for €18m.
However, La Dea decided against signing Merih permanently, and the defender is now ready to come back to Juventus. But Demiral does not feature in coach Massimilano Allegri’s plans going forward, and the Serie A giants are thus eager to sell him permanently this summer amid interest from the Blues.
Inter were reportedly linked with a move for the Turkish centre-back as they could lose one of their two first-choice defenders this summer amid links with Chelsea, Tottenham and others. But as per the report, the Turkish centre-back is most likely to move to the PL.
The Bianconeri could offer Merih Demiral in a swap deal to Chelsea that would see Jorginho move the other way. Italy international has only a year left on his deal with Chelsea, and renewal does not look to be on the cards.
The Italian midfielder is also no longer one of the first names on the team sheet, and the German coach does not consider him an ‘untouchable’.
