Liverpool are keeping tabs on Wilfried Zaha, who is in the final year of his Crystal Palace deal, according to reports. Ivory Coast international is a talismanic figure for the Eagles. His dazzling skill on the pitch, loyalty off it, and knack for netting against club rival Brighton has helped entrench Zaha in Crystal Palace’s history.
However, with his deal due to run out next year, Wilfried has reportedly been the subject of interest from several of Europe’s top teams. Indeed, Crystal Palace are hoping to tie the 29-year-old winger down to a new deal, but the two sides have allegedly been in a standoff for two years, with the winger reportedly dreaming of playing UCL football elsewhere.
The Reds are keeping tabs on the Ivorian forward’s deal situation and are among several teams that could make a move later down the line. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is also thought to be a long-term admirer of the Ivorian while Chelsea were keen on signing Zaha before the end of the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, on the continent, PSG, Milan and Inter Milan are all said to have expressed an interest in Zaha. Clubs in Europe have the advantage of being able to negotiate a free transfer with Wilfried from January.
Zaha could prove to be the ideal fit for Liverpool, with the club having been linked with several forwards, and doubt over the future of Firmino. Zaha can play on either wing, as well as centrally, making him a superb squad option for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
