Liverpool held talks with €30m-rated South American midfielder

Liverpool will reportedly have to pay €25m to add Guido Rodriguez from Real Betis. La Liga club had great financial difficulties during the summer transfer window, and they struggled to register some footballers. It looks like they might be open to the sale of a crucial figure, and the Reds are looking to make the most of the chance.

The Merseyside giants’ midfield woes are well-documented, and Jurgen Klopp needs to bring in a quality midfielder in order to turn things around. Liverpool have been quite disappointing this campaign, and they are currently languishing in the mid-table positions.

Argentina international has done well for Real Betis and could be a smart signing for the club. Rodriguez will add presence and defensive discipline in the middle of the park. Currently, Henderson and Fabinho have been used in the defensive midfield role.

But the Reds captain has been extremely poor with his performances. Meanwhile, the Reds’ first-choice midfielder Fabinho is struggling to hit top form and could use more competition. Guido would not only add quality to the side, but he would also add depth to the squad. Jurgen Klopp currently desperately needs numbers in the midfield.

The report claims that the South American midfielder will cost nearly €25m. The 28-year-old midfielder is at the peak of his powers right now, and he can certainly justify the outlay. Furthermore, the reported asking price seems affordable for a club with the Reds’ resources.
