Chelsea are ready to join the battle for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham. England international has continued to develop at a rapid rate at Bundesliga giants, once again showing his class in the defeat to Man City in the UCL in midweek. Jude scored his third goal of the campaign with Man City.
Bellingham said: ‘Dortmund have done loads for me and made me feel very welcome since I first came and gave me the opportunities to develop even further. To look past that and into the future would be disrespectful.’ Interest in Jude is expected to ramp up yet again next summer, with the likes of Man United and Liverpool consistently linked.
The Blues hope to be in the mix for his signature, with new Chelsea manager Graham Potter said to be a big fan of the 19-year-old midfielder. The English midfielder could set interested suitors back a fee of more than £100m and that fee may yet rise if he stars at the upcoming World Cup.
The Blues spent big in the latest transfer window, bringing in the likes of Fofana, Koulibaly, Cururella and Sterling. Graham Potter’s first match as Chelsea coach ended in a 1-1 draw with RB Salzburg, and he will have to wait until after the international break for his maiden PL game at his new team.
