Arsenal joined the race to sign 23-year-old Serie A attacker

The contractual situation of Nicolo Zaniolo as  Roma might allow teams to make their interest known. Arsenal are among the clubs keeping tabs on the 23-year-old attacker, and there could be other clubs keen on his services. Nicolo has seen his stock rise in the last few campaigns, with the attacker putting in some important performances for the Giallorossi.

Zaniolo has developed into a crucial figure under Jose Mourinho, with Roma keen on retaining him on a new deal. The Giallorossi want the footballer to extend his stay, but his conditions are proving tricky for the club to accept now. The report suggests Italy international wants a €4m-a-year deal and a significant amount in bonuses.

Roma are open to add-ons but are only willing to go up to €3.5m in salary. Moreover, the Giallorossi want to insert a €50m release clause in the Italian attacker’s contract. The Italian might be open to the condition if the Giallorossi meet his financial requests.

But there might be trouble brewing between the two sides if they cannot come to a fair conclusion over this renewal. The Gunners are in the market for exciting footballers who can improve their squad. Mikel Arteta wants continuation in building a title-challenging squad.

After a tremendous summer transfer window and their fantastic start to their campaign, Arsenal find themselves sitting on top of the table. On paper, they may not need a player of Nicolo Zaniolo’s profile.
